Born into a distant branch of the royal family, Guerart is the sixth son of a sixth son of a sixth son. (He tries not to read too much into this.) By the time Guerart came into his own, there wasn’t much royal power left to go around, but he still had the family cash to flash.
This bought him a few happy hoists up the ladder of the castle guard and it wasn’t long before Guerart joined the Queen’s private security team. Taking advantage of his unwavering loyalty, the Queen chose Guerart to lead a task force with a very specific—and deadly—mission.
